The GuideStone Funds Institutional Sales Consultant works to develop business for the GuideStone Funds through Institutional channels. The Sales Consultant builds institutional consultant and direct institutional relationships through a consultative sales process. Working in partnership with these parties, the Sales Consultant strives to position GuideStone Funds’ array of mutual funds and investment solutions within clients’ investment portfolios.

The essential duties and responsibilities are:

  • Develop a business plan annually and devise the necessary activities, strategies and tactics to achieve goals and grow the business accordingly.
  • Proactively develop consultative relationships with Consultants and institutions throughout the US by a combination of cold calls, center of influence referrals, industry conferences and e-marketing.
  • Qualify, follow up and leverage relationships developed through these initiatives to position the GuideStone Funds.
  • Maintain and expand existing relationships by executing proactive, creative and ongoing contact.
  • Participate in client and prospect related meetings, seminars and roundtables to educate and provide information regarding faith-based investing or Biblically-Responsible Investing(BRI).
  • Partner with internal associates to capitalize on qualified leads while providing specific information to initiate call and e-marketing campaigns.
  • Communicate GuideStone’s investment management philosophy and investment fund choices to churches and potential institutional clients.
  • Represent and serve GuideStone with integrity so as to both support and further its mission and values.
  • Track all meetings and sales events through
  • Assist the Investment Sales Director with other department-wide projects as assigned such as marketing strategy design, budget development and tracking, reporting processes and other activities as assigned.
  • Engage and educate consultants about GuideStone’s value proposition.
  • Provides management with insight on industry trends, best practices and product needs.
  • Meets with and educates consultant partners to position the value of GuideStone funds.
  • Maintain professional development and ongoing personal education/growth.
  • Work to identify cross sell opportunities of other GuideStone products and services.
  • Work in unison with the Client Services area of GuideStone Capital Management.
  • Provides portfolio and relationship management services to institutional clients with large and complex account profiles.
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing assets under management
  • Up to 50% Travel.
  • CFA or CIMA designation preferred.
  • Series 7 and 63 required.
  • Proficient PC skills in MS Office and applicable GuideStone system applications.
  • Requires 5 years’ experience in financial services and institutional sales.
  • Experience in sales, investment management and/or financial services are essential.
  • Ability to interact, support and communicate well with institutional executive officers and management.
  • Understanding of and ability to communicate investment management and financial planning concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of investment management philosophy.
  • Working knowledge of retirement plans and executive benefit arrangements.
  • Working knowledge of current investment and SEC legal environments.
  • Working knowledge of current retirement and pension legal environments.
  • Ability to think analytically.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to coordinate travel with GuideStone office work and personal commitments.
  • Working knowledge of sales principles.
  • Public speaking/presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of SBC polity, philosophy and history. Southern Baptist membership preferred.
  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
