The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for processing the semi-monthly payroll for our organization that employs over 400 individuals. This position will also process any off-cycle payrolls that may be required as well as be responsible for reconciling all disbursements to the general ledger.

The essential duties and responsibilities are:

  • Coordinate and process all information necessary to produce payroll on an automated system
  • Verify employee timesheets
  • Balance and remit federal and state withholding taxes, garnishments, and other employee deductions
  • Prepare W-2 reporting on an annual basis
  • Research changing payroll laws and develop compliance procedures
  • Assist employees with payroll changes and questions
  • Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • At least 3 years of payroll experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Ultimate Software preferred
  • Good organizational skills – ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Moderate to advanced in working with Microsoft Excel
  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters
