In our over 45 year history Rockford has predominantly performed work on government fuel, tank, and utility projects. Rockford Corporation specializes in the construction and repair of steel tanks, fueling and utility systems for the military. It has successfully completed fuel and utility-related construction projects for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska, Sacramento and Omaha Districts, Naval Facilities Engineering Command and U.S. Coast Guard.

Take necessary actions to stop or correct unsafe behaviors or conditions and, if appropriate, report them to the site Supervisor.

Become familiar with company policies, pertinent standards, work instructions or safe operating procedures. Maintain good attendance and actively participate with a positive attitude.

Quality Control Coordinator


Perform routine administrative and coordination functions, at an active construction job site, including:

performing electronic data entry activities for various reporting requirements; document review for correctness and completeness;

Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files; drafting correspondence;

preparing formal submittal documents; scheduling appointments and providing information to callers, visitors and site personnel.

This position provides a wide range of administrative support activities to the quality control staff and the rest of the project team.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Quality Control Manager and other Quality Control team members in the preparation, scheduling and documentation of quality control specification requirements

• Assist Project team members with processing of Submittals, O & M manuals and reports.

• Maintain Document Control of project filing system including file set-up, document maintenance, filing, copying and documentation packaging and mailing/shipping.

• Collect mail/Project correspondence, sort and distribute as necessary.

• Distribute Environmental, Safety & Health bulletins and other Project related correspondence and information.

• Use computers for various applications such as data entry, database management and word processing.

• Attend internal meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

• Maintain training, attendance, expense and meeting records; update reports and personnel records; and maintain project O&M manuals and warranty documents.

• Operate office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions.

• Order and maintain office supplies, general consumables, personal protective safety equipment and miscellaneous construction aids.

• Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, transfer calls to appropriate individuals, schedule deliveries/pick-ups.

• Maintain scheduling and event calendars.

• Complete forms in accordance with company procedures.

• Make copies of correspondence, submittals, project documents and other printed material.

• Work with Superintendent Staff on ordering of project materials, to include vendor quotes, setting up accounts and issuing purchase orders through Timberline system.

• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

• As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening and have a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance.

• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain access to Federal Installations.

• Expert in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.

• Strong inter-personnel skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

• Punctuality and good attendance are essential.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

• Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

• Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

• Provide information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in written form, via e-mail or in person.

• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of administrative experience within the construction industry.

• High School Degree or equivalent.

• Experience with UFGS 01 45 01 Quality Control requirements
Requirements Physical Demands:

• Requires working outdoors.

• Exposed to all types of weather conditions (heat/cold/rain/snow) while working in all types of environments.

• Will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs.

• Passenger use of construction personnel hoists.

• Ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

• Performing this job requires use of hands to finger; handle; or feel objects; tools or controls; sit; talk and hear; stand; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl in tight spaces.

• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

• While performing the duties of this job; the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

• The noise level in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud

• Must have good balance while working on uneven surfaces and maneuvering obstacles.

Environmental Conditions:

• May be assigned to large; complex projects.

• May spend considerable time inspecting construction worksites.

• Working environment is that of a construction site.
