Description LABORER (ARL-22-0995-F)

Bowhead has an immediate opening for a Laborer to support the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

The objective of the task that this Laborer will be supporting is to provide Laborer support at an Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Experimental Facility (EF). The EF is responsible for performing ballistic experiments on novel armor/anti-armor technologies to support the U.S. Army and other Armed Services. This work is performed in an outdoor environment that includes the presence of explosive materials.

The Laborer performs simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Work is checked in progress or on completion. This individual will performs one or a combination of such typical duties as:
• Build and assemble armor targets, test fixtures, and stands using basic carpentry and machining skills. This involves intermittent requirements to lift parts such as metal plates weighing up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Perform maintenance/upkeep (sweeping, general organization and housekeeping) of facility when necessary; modify facility as required for specific projects.
• Operate tractors, weed eaters, utility vehicles, and trucks to provide range maintenance and transportation of supplies associated with testing.

This individual must:
• Possess basic computer skills (e-mail, word, excel).
• Be willing to take all ARL and Bowhead required training (e.g., safety, security, hazardous material, equipment).
• Possess basic knowledge of machinery, hand and power tools, and have ability to follow directions and function as part of a team.
• Adhere to all safety and security procedures and regulations associated with the Experimental Facility, which requires Secret and Special Access clearances.

Must maintain at all times:
• Secret Clearance
• Certification to operate Government and Team Bowhead Equipment and Vehicles

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

If the position requires, an applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background history check. Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel purposes, applicants must have a valid driver license for this position and will be subject to verification. In addition, the applicant must pass an in-house, online, driving course to be authorized to drive for company purposes.
