Description Laborer
Perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor at job site.

Essential Functions:
• May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers; small mechanical hoists; surveying and measuring equipment; and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• May assist other craft workers.
• May perform demolition techniques with safe working practices.
• May Assist with Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim.
• • Knowledge of interior dry wall tasks and painting experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Install items such as window shades, window blinds, curtain rods, wall fans, door and locking hardware.
• Perform roof work, repair fencing.
• Knowledge of interior dry wall tasks and painting experience
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform in a proficient manner the assigned skilled labor duties.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment; movement; or adjustment of machinery; equipment; or materials.
• Load; unload; or identify building materials; machinery; or tools; distributing them to the appropriate locations; according to project plans or specifications.
• using picks; shovels; pneumatic tampers; or rakes
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Must understand and initiate fall protection and prevention.
• Ability to be a team player and follow directions.
• Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
• Report any incident; situation or activity that may affect the company’s ability to operate safely; ethically and profitably to Superintendent and General Foreman.
• Proficient with all hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of machines and tools; including their designs; uses; repair; and maintenance.
• Watching gauges; dials; or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly

Physical Demands:

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks; which require following basic safety precautions.
• The ability to quickly move your hand; your hand together with your arm; or your two hands to grasp; manipulate; or assemble objects.
• The ability to quickly move your hand; your hand together with your arm; or your two hands to grasp; manipulate; or assemble objects.
• The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example; two arms; two legs; or one leg and one arm) while sitting; standing; or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body; such as climbing; lifting; balancing; walking; stooping; and handling of materials.
• The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example; two arms; two legs; or one leg and one arm) while sitting; standing; or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body; such as climbing; lifting; balancing; walking; stooping; and handling of materials.
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting; pushing; or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical part; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration
• The employee is frequently exposed to high; precarious places and risk of electrical shock and loud noise levels.
Working Conditions:

Will work in all typed of weather.
• Work in different elevations.
• Job site will contain light to heavy equipment; small to large equipment; materials; communication equipment and tools
• People standing; walking; sitting; signaling; and talking
• May be occasional bells; alarms; and whistles
• Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions of extreme cold; noise exposure; constantly changing work environment; irregular surfaces; slippery surfaces; moving equipment; open excavations; temporary structures; and general construction hazards.

Requirements

Required Experience: High School Diploma or GED Valid Alaska Driver's License
