Description SECURITY SPECIALIST (AVTBTSS-22-0066-F):

Bowhead seeks a Security Specialist to support operational and technical support services for the Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch (AVTB) Headquarters and Technical Support Services (HQTSS) at Camp Pendleton, CA. AVTB is a Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored test facility that provides year-round Test and Evaluation (T&E) of amphibious vehicles, ground combat vehicles, systems, and equipment for the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS).

The Security Specialist will manage and assist new personnel with check-in and orientation procedures, to include but not limited to, initiating CAC application, facilitating badge agreement, DBIDS documentation, DD-254 application, and any training required for a successful and
expeditious onboarding process.



Job duties will include but are not limited to:
• Shall be required to travel to various locations in support of this PWS when notified by
the COR. The Contractor shall provide a trip report.
• Ensure all visitors show a valid photo identification (ID) prior to being issued an AVTB
visitor badge.
• Ensure all personal requesting access to the AVTB compound without the proper badge
• (MCTSSA, AVTB) gets cleared by AVTB staff prior to allowing access.
• Ensure visitor control logbook is filled out in detail and corresponds with the individual requesting access to the AVTB compound.
• Manage visitor control at AVTB visitor control center in accordance with applicable access and visitor control guidelines and instructions from 0700-1530 Monday through Friday excluding weekends and federal holidays.
• Manage issue and de-issue visitor badges, provide customer service and answer phones from 0700-1530 Monday through Friday excluding weekends and federal holidays.
• Cross train as primary backup for operating/monitoring the Marine Corps Electronic
• Security System (MCESS) components at AVTB and other activities associated with maintaining heightened security posture for AVTB.
• Cross train as primary backup for operating/monitoring Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and other activities associated with maintaining heightened security posture for AVTB.
• Report any issue with the MCESS to AVTB Security Manager so a work order can be submitted; conduct follow-up on repair.
• Report any issue with the main entrance, vehicle gate, turnstiles, and boat dock entrance to Logistics to submit a work order; conduct follow-up on repair.
• Report any issue with the CCTV to AVTB Security Manager so a work order can be submitted; conduct follow-up on repair.
Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccinestart date.

• Zero to Two (0-2) years experience transporting , setting up, using and maintaining audio and visual equipment.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
