Description SOFTWARE ENGINEER (SSN-19-0852-F):

Bowhead seeks a Software Engineer to create and revise training simulations at the Naval Air Station in Orlando, Florida, in support of the US Navy’s Submarine Skills Training Network (Sub Skills Net)/Virtual Interactive Shipboard Instructional Tour (VISIT). Our Team of software developers and media artists work on training systems, training data products, training software configuration management, and lifecycle support.

The Software Engineer conducts programming activities using C++ and C# Unity scripts related to the design, development, maintenance, analysis, and/or installation of PC based computer simulation programs to internal, client, and/or commercial application systems.

Essential job functions include:

• Developing Win32 C++ applications with Visual Studio C++ and Unity 3D applications with C#

• Collaborating in software development with source control tools such as Perforce, CSV, SVN, and Git

• Coding review and debug computer software using interactive debugger (Visual Studio) and defect tracking software (e.g., Bugzilla, Jira)

• Developing cross-platform software using QT/JavaScript
Requirements • Associates Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Technology – or – possess an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
• Requires two to five (2-5) years’ experience in PC simulation coding/debugging experience with C++ and C#.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
