Bowhead seeks a Systems Security Engineer to provide system security services on behalf of the Army Facilities Components System (AFCS) Program as needed in preparation for system assessment and security controls implementation. The Systems Security Engineer provides risk management framework (RMF) to obtain the ATO. This will involve over 1400+ controls that will need to be documented. The Systems Security Engineer will develop requirements from project inception to its conclusion for a particular subject matter area (i.e. IT, engineering, linguistics, scientific field, etc.).

This position is forecasted to be a six (6) month assignment only-there is no guarantee of renewal or follow up work after the sixth month.

Other essential functions may include:

• Preparing artifacts, network & data flow diagrams, and any other security related documents or tasks leading to the Theater Army Construction Automated Planning System (TACAPS) Authority to Operate (ATO).

• Analyzes actual and predictable operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making or resource allocation.

• Utilizes modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, and other necessary techniques.

• Provides integral support in the requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification, and documentation of modeling and simulation based decision support system applications.

Requirements • A BA/BS in Information Technology or other related field is required
• A minimum of five to eight (5-8) years of relevant experience is also required
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II – Security+ certification or better is required
• Must have prior experience performing RMF documentation and support to obtain ATO
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
