Bowhead is seeking an Electronics Technician Assembler to provide physical telecommunications installation support for the E-10 DETO contract. They will perform installation, termination, labeling and testing of optical fiber.

Installer essential functions will include:

• Performs fusion splicing and cable terminations using 3M Hot Melts and Corning UniCam Fiber Optic Connectors.

• Provides assistance in building telecommunication rooms while adhering to applicable standards and specifications

• Performs testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems which include Entrance Facilities, Equipment Rooms, Backbone Cabling, Telecommunications Room, Horizontal Cabling and Work Area’s

• Ensures transmission fundamentals of copper and fiber media are maintained

• Installs, tests and labels surface or wall mount networking outlets, for both types of media (Copper and/or Fiber)

• Documents configuration changes and provides to the Installation Team Lead for incorporation into the Communications Diagrams

• Installation of Cable Support Systems, which include Conduits, Cable Tray and Vertical raceway

Requirements • Positions requires a high school diploma or equivalent and up to five to eight (5-8) years' experience in setting up and conducting laboratory and field tests; in the fabrication of electronic and electromechanical components and subsystems; and in the integration of electronic and electromagnetic components and systems in U.S. Navy/Joint systems and platforms.

• Need experience using fiber optics assemblies; not pulling cables, working on “payload development team” assembling cables with fiber optics

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level, however candidates with an active security clearance at the Secret level are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
