Bowhead seeks a Submarine Battery Inspector to join our Submarine Battery ISEA Fleet Operations Team based out of Crane, IN. The Submarine Battery Inspector conducts annual and Ad Hoc submarine battery inspections on both Legacy Lead Acid Main Storage batteries and Submarine Valve Regulated Lead Acid (SVRLA) Main Storage batteries. In this position, you will have face to face contact with customers on various levels in various homeports, private and Navy shipyards (both domestic and globally) and must possess exceptional customer service skills. A qualified individual will have a background as a nuclear submarine electrician and will be required to stay current with the dynamic submarine battery environment. This position does require extensive travel, up to 75%, both CONUS and OCONUS and a valid US Passport is required at the time of hire.

The Submarine Battery Inspector will be integrating with the ISEA Fleet Operation Team and may assist in the following duties:

• Technical manual and PMS updates and revisions
• Logistics research, tracking and updating
• Writing submarine battery operating procedures
• ABMS and Battery performance troubleshooting and repair
• Battery data review with on-site engineers and meeting with NAVSEA sponsors and vendors
• Updating Fleet training and participating in installing and maintenance activities

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and five to eight (5-8) years’ experience is required however prior Navy Nuclear Electrician experience and training may be substituted for formal education requirements for highly qualified candidates
• Past experience as a Navy Nuclear Electrician, especially on submarines, is highly desired
• Valid US Passport required
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
