Description Build and construct using wood structure. Will follow building specifications to ensure exact fit and stable finished product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hang misc. GWB, install ceiling grid, supervise and QC wall panels layout
• Perform construction work, all types of framing, including window/door frames, walls, roofs, siding, insulation and vapor barrier installation. Building stairs and landings.
• Operate basic construction equipment, such as forklifts and loaders.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications. Must be able to perform work as detailed in the plans and specifications.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
• Must have comprehensive working knowledge of commercial construction and 5+ years of carpentry experience.
• Must be able to study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Must be able to shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Must be able to verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level
• Must have basic knowledge of related construction activities, i.e., mechanical & electrical systems.
• Knowledge of carpentry on a commercial project including construction work, all types of framing, including walls, roofs, insulation and vapor barrier installation.
• Knowledge of finish carpentry skills including installation of cabinets and trim, door and window installation including commercial grade hardware.
• Perform independently without direct supervision
• Ability to operate basic construction equipment, such as forklifts and loaders.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform duties and operation of tools of the trade in strict compliance with OSHA rules.
• Have punctual and on time work history.
• Not been terminated within the past 6 months of employment with UIC or its family of companies.
• Work well with in a team setting
• Must be able to have good motion of range for body and limbs
• Be able to reach in all directions
• Handle and manipulate objects and material
• Coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet and fingers to complete assigned tasks
• Perform prolonged standing (2-3 hour intervals).
• Able to utilize adequate visual skills.
• Able to utilize adequate hearing skills.
• Ability to work at heights above 12’ while working from ladders, scaffolding, and/or man lifts.
Requirements Required Experience:

• Must have comprehensive working knowledge of commercial construction
• 5+ years of carpentry and siding experience.
• Must possess and maintain current driver’s license.
• Must have a punctual work history.
• Must have a high school diploma or Equivalent
