Description CORPORATE CONTROLLER (MC-17-2069-F):

UIC Government Services/Bowhead is looking for a take charge, results-oriented Corporate Controller to join our growing team based in our Alexandria, VA office. The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing the financial recordkeeping, reporting and internal control structures across the organization.

You will have the opportunity to bring excellence to the processing of all financial transactions, journal entries and preparation of monthly financial statements for 21 Bowhead subsidiary companies. The Controller is responsible for putting into place process improvements and quality control initiatives across all aspects of the Accounting organization. Your work will have a direct effect on the bottom line of the organization.

Your team maintains the Company’s books and financial records including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, time reporting, payroll and cost accounting. You will oversee the monthly closing of the books including account analysis and reconciliations. You will be responsible for the preparation of external financial statements, research of accounting rules, monthly review of revenue recognition and unbilled costs, and oversight of the annual financial audit. You will ensure that the financial statements and reports are compliant with GAAP, CAS and FAR.

Daily Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements

• Prepare year-end financial statements with footnotes for audit

• Prepare, analyze and publish financial statements for guidance to senior management and financial managers and provide financial explanations when appropriate

• Serve as primary interface to internal and external audits

• Develop, analyze and interpret other supplemental financial reports of the Company in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, cash flow, performance against budget and operating effectiveness of the organization

• Lead activities of the controller’s organization for the general ledger, accounts payable, expense reporting, accounts receivable/cash receipts, time reporting, payroll, cost accounting and month-end close processes, including review and approval of standard month-end and year-end journal entries and revenue adjustments, ensuring complete and accurate financial statements.

• Create, monitor and assure UICGS Accounting policies are compliant with GAAP, CAS and FAR financial reporting requirements and regulations

• Communication with DCAA and DCMA on matters pertaining to governmental financial compliance

• Maintain the Company’s system of accounts and ensure all books and records are retained to support all company transactions

• Oversee existing accounting programs and make process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and improve processes

• Interface with various functions within the company to ensure that the Controller functions are meeting internal management needs and acquiring appropriate information to generate accurate reports

• Manage multifunctional work group through first level managers, professionals and support staff and have overall human resources responsibility for the group

• Perform profit and expense analysis to determine present and future financial performance

• Understand and adhere to all UICGS Ethical and Compliance policies

• Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to UICGS risk and safety policies and procedures
Requirements Qualifications You Need:

• We need you to have worked as a Controller at a firm with at least 150 million dollars in revenue.

• You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and ten to fifteen years’ of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience

• We would like you to have at least five years’ of experience serving as a Corporate Controller

• You need to have managed an accounting departing using Deltek, Costpoint, and Deltek Time Collection for at least five years

• We will ask you to demonstrate a strong knowledge of GAAP including external financial reporting, CAS and FAR

• We expect that you will be highly proficient with Microsoft software applications and other accounting software applications as required. You must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level and pass our background check.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level.
