Bowhead is seeking a System Administrator in support of our team at Fort Eustis, VA. The System Administrator will perform duties involved in the routine development, testing, implementation and maintenance of operating system and related software.

System Administrator essential functions will include:

• Troubleshoots and resolves routine software, operating system and networking problems.

• Schedules, performs and monitors routine system backups and when necessary, performs data recoveries.

• Installs, and maintains company's local area network or wide area network. Responsibilities require an understanding of both networking and telecommunications theory and practice.

• Maintain workstations, laptops and other computer devices and peripherals.

• Image desktop computers and laptops using the Army Gold Master image.

• Analyze system logs and identifies potential issues.

• Apply operating system updates, patches and configuration changes.

• Manage system hardware component installation.

• Administer configuration for new hardware and software.

• Manage user account information to include password reset when applicable.

• Perform monitoring and performance tuning.

• Monitor system load, response time and available storage space.

• Maintain system configuration files.

• Provide user/group administration.

• Perform scripting to automate services and refine procedures.

• Provide capacity planning support.

• Test and debug outages and issues.

• Be part of manned rotation on a help desk providing end user support.

• Create tickets in RARS and/or resolve issues assigned (tasks assigned directly from NEC Managers, or on-call contract employee).

• Remote and on-site monitoring of system workloads.

• Provide and implement recommendations on system changes and
operational procedures needed to increase efficiency.

• Manage network client accounts to include establishment and disestablishment of systems and mail accounts.

• Administer network security to include system access control, anti-virus protection, and remote system patching and general system maintenance.
Requirements • Positions requires a Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate scientific; engineering; or computer related discipline and five (5) years of System Administration experience.

• Windows 10 Certificate in 6 months

• Security+ CE required

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

• Familiarity with VMware ESX and ESXi server virtualization.

• Familiarity with ARMY standards and systems.

• Experience in SharePoint, SAN Management and Virtual Server Management.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
