Description SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - (RDTE-18-1939-F)

Bowhead is looking for a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for providing desktop and server field support to the user community of government/contractor personnel within a Department organization.

• The Systems Administrator will provide operational support includes daily server maintenance, along with client/server patch management, anti-virus, and data backup solutions for the assets associated with department servers.

• The Systems Administrator will be expected to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all routine Systems Administration functions to assure security requirements and operational goals are met.

• This team environment involves working with other system managers as well as developers and analysts. Support consists of troubleshooting hardware, software, and network related issues encountered by the supported users.

• Most hardware support includes Windows based client servers, as well as assisting with common access cards (PKI support).

• Software support includes Windows operating systems, Windows Server 2008/2012, as well as server based GOTS and COTS software including Citrix, Cognos, and IIS.

Additional Systems Administrator responsibilities include:

• Implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for supported software.

• The installation of new software releases, system upgrades, and evaluation of new programs to address software requirements.

• Assist with the maintenance of the security accreditation on the supported organization's IT equipment.

• Develop IT related procedures and assess future IT needs of the organization and provide recommendations.

• Monitor system configurations to ensure data integrity.

• Assist in the preparation of a monthly progress report.
Requirements • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related or mathematical discipline from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and administration of stand-alone computer systems, local area networks (LANs), and/or wide area networks (WANs).

Additional Requirements:
• MCSE is a plus.
• Must be DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant.
• Position requires a strong understanding of current Microsoft supported Windows operating systems.
• Must demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of the installation, maintenance and administration of computer systems in a LAN environment is required.
• Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and teach or assist others to resolve related issues.
• A high level of competency in both written and oral communications skills is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with the Department of Defense networking and security accreditation requirements is required.
• A working knowledge of Windows Active Directory.
• A working knowledge of current NMCI policies and procedures such as support for the NMCI S&T user configurations is a plus; but not required.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to interface effectively with the Navy to develop and support technical positions and to justify technical recommendations.
• Must possess the ability to easily transition from working in a team environment to working independently while continuing to meet multiple task deadlines.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
