Description Marine Electrician (PMRF-20-1661-W):

***Position is contingent on contract award***

Bowhead Marine Support Services seeks an Marine Electrician for the operations of a Multipurpose Craft in direct support of the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) Detachment Guam at Naval Base Guam. The Marine Electrician, independently or under minimum supervision, will troubleshoot, repair, inspect, overhaul, modify, calibrate, install, operate, and perform other related tasks on all electrical systems or equipment associated with marine systems and facilities

• Operate and maintain the Multipurpose Craft 1 (MPC-1) in direct support of PMRF missions which range from harbor operations to open ocean operations within 200nm of Guam and the Marianas Islands.

• Conduct, assist and supervise the preventative, corrective, predictive maintenance and repairs or modifications to suit mission requirements of MPC-1.

• Shall have extensive experience, knowledge, and confident skills as a vessel engineer and be able to plan work packages for planned maintenance availabilities and urgent repairs.

• Familiarity with the Navy 3-M system is a plus.

• Shall be proficient in the operation of Marine Diesel engines.

• Proficient at following instructions for planned maritime operations and understanding military communications.

Requirements • Minimum of three (2) years experience operating and maintaining diesel propulsion systems, and hold a current USCG License as an Officer in Charge of an engineering Watch of vessels over 750kW. Must have Marine Electricians Endorsement.

Must provide a certificate of competency that complies with STCW Reg III/1: NVIC 17-14 Guidelines On Qualification For STCW Endorsements As Officer In Charge Of An Engineering Watch In A Manned Engineroom Or Designated Duty Engineer In A Periodically Unmanned Engineroom On Vessels Powered By Main Propulsion Machinery Of 750KW/1000 HP Propulsion Power Or More

• Prefer candidate with experience operating US Navy small craft used to support operations in the deployment and recovery of MK-30, MK-39, Mk-46, MK-48, MK-54 systems and Portable Underwater Tracking Range (PUTR), Portable Acoustic Range (PAR), LASEREX, and High Speed Maneuvering Seaborne Target (HSMST) operations.

Successful applicant will also demonstrate knowledge and experience of Port Operations Support Functions to include workboats used to support security gate openings/closings, line handling, pusher boat duties, oil boom installation/removal around moored or anchored vessels.

• Must be able to pass pre-employment and routine drug screening as required by Maritime Consortium.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands: The work environment varies and includes, but is not limited to: dock, port, bay, waterways, coastal and open ocean environments, office space, equipment rooms, warehouse space, construction zones, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions. Work hours may fluctuate outside of normal duty hours.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
