We are currently seeking a Resident Project Representative to work on projects surrounding the Las Vegas area.


Acts as a Project Manager/Field Engineer on Clark County, NDOT, City of Las Vegas, and other municipality projects and supports the Project Engineer.  Performs and manages daily on-site observation of the construction work for compliance with the project plans and specifications. Manages the completion of these observations through Resident Project Representatives, Construction Observers and Material Technicians. Performs daily documentation of project inspections, submittals, and construction records as required by the client contract with the help of the office manager.


  • Prepares reports, coordinate progress meetings with the contractor and owner, manages the shop drawing review process and certifies Contractor payrolls,
  • Reviews a Contractor’s subcontractor agreements (MBE/WBE/DBE), drafts and manages Stanley’s sub consultant agreements.
  • Monitors internal project budgets
  • Ensures Stanley staff’s compliance with the Group Safety manual.
  • Reviews and submits monthly billings to the Client, analyzes and negotiates change orders.
  • Resolves contractor questions and drawing clarifications.
  • Maintains active client communications and assists the Business Development Manager or others with marketing, interviews and proposal preparation.
  • Provides corporate support as requested to the Construction Services Chief, Group Safety Manager, Human Resources, Accounting and Line Management.


Usually involves diversified work within general procedures, requiring frequent judgment and initiative. Only exceptional cases outside of general procedures referred to manager.



  • Four year degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering and/or construction management
  • Experience performing field engineering duties for Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, and/or NDOT, etc. strongly preferred.
  • Excellent visualization, communication and documentation skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) and an individual capable of performing in an unsupervised capacity.  A general knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specs is mandatory.  Experience with Clark County, CLV, NDOT, etc. plans, specifications, policies and procedures for project delivery and construction strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to distribute learned knowledge to other Resident Project Representatives, Construction Observer’s and Material Testing Technicians.
  • Ability to assist Construction Manager/Resident Engineer with many of their tasks and to be able to fill the Construction Managers/Resident Engineer’s role temporarily in their absence.
  • Aptitude to act as a positive representative of the Stanley Consultants, Inc. core values and an active participation in an outside professional organization or internal Stanley committees (i.e., Group Safety Committee, MAC, etc.)
  • Dependent upon project specific requirements and Client requests, this position may require an individual with specific expertise in sub elements of construction.  Some examples, although not exhaustive are:  Traffic Control (AATSA), Material Testing (Soils, Concrete), Structural Welding, Landscaping, Dry Utilities, Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, Roadway Pavement.

    The position requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions, lift and transport up to 50 lbs., and possibly climb ladders, scaffolding, trenches etc.  Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.


    This position may require some out of town work assignments. The position may require performing work throughout the state of Nevada, primarily in the Clark County/Las Vegas area.  If so, per diem and housing arrangements will be provided by the company for “out of town” work.  Work hours of this position are not defined and will vary week to week as we are required to work at all times that the general contractor is on-site performing substantial work activities.

    Operating or being in the vicinity of a nuclear density gauge may be required at times.  If requested by the Company, the member must be able to meet the criteria established by the Federal Government for operation of this equipment.
