We are currently seeking for a Transportation Engineer for our Chicago office. This position is responsible for transportation engineering design including roadway and freeway design, intersections, quantity take-offs and cost estimates, signing and pavement marking plans, report writing, and preparation of contract plans.

  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must have 3 - 8 years of relevant transportation engineering experience
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; IL PE is desired
  • Familiarity with Chicago area agencies such as IL Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA) is a plus
  • Must be proficient with Geopak Civil Engineering Suite
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of design software (Microstation, Geopak, Corridor Modeler, Open Roads). Assists designers/technicians in creating contract drawings.
  • Prepares specifications; prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates; prepares permits.
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
