Stanley Consultants is currently looking for a Transportation Engineer for our Chicago office! This position is responsible for varied transportation engineering work on various design and study projects. Tasks include all aspects of roadway design and related facilities such as roadway design, intersections, utilities research and coordination , right-of-way coordination and permits, quantity take-offs and cost estimates, signing and pavement marking plans, report writing, and preparation contract plans.


  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 5– 10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer certification is required
  • Must be proficient with Geopak Civil Engineering Suite
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare design documents. Assists designers/technicians in creating contract drawings
  • Prepares specifications; prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates; prepares permits.
  • Knowledge of signing, pavement marking, construction sequencing, roadway paving, and traffic control plans is a plus b
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Chicago area agencies such as IDOT, CDOT and ISTHA is a plus
