We are currently seeking for a Drainage Engineer for our Chicago office. Essential Duties include:

  • Manage the preparation of Phase 2 engineering plans and specifications for design of stormwater management facilities including storm sewer systems, detention facilities, flood control facilities, channel restoration/rehabilitation, and other hydraulic structures and facilities;
  • Manage the preparation of Phase 1 stormwater management studies, including Location Drainage Studies, Hydraulic Reports, and conceptual drainage studies;
  • Direct the preparation of drainage design calculations and modeling to support design recommendations;
  • Direct field studies, surveys, and data collection necessary to develop drainage concepts and construction documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, scope of services, and contract cost estimates.
  • Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits required.
Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Requires an Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license;
  • Must possess at least 5 - 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling software such as HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WSPRO, XPSWMM, WinTR-55, and GeoPak Drainage;
  • Proficiency with Microstation
  • Requires experience with IL DOT and Illinois Tollway drainage design policies and procedures;
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of project team to complete tasks;
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point
