Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Survey Technician for our Phoenix office. This position will require creating Legal Description Exhibits, ADOT Right-of-Way Maps, and Exhibits. Experience in writing and interpreting Legal Descriptions is required. The position will also provide CAD support for Survey related deliverables using MicroStation/InRoads, and Autodesk Civil 3D. The candidate will need to be able to use InRoads to create Alignments, Station/Offset reports, and have an understanding of basic cogo functionality. Additional experience in Survey Mapping and ALTA Surveys utilizing Civil 3D and or MicroStation/Inroads is also desirable. The position would also require field experience using Leica/Trimble GPS receivers and data collection systems using RTK and Static techniques. Robotic Total Station experience is also desirable. A background in boundary verification, engineering design survey, and topographic survey procedures is required. The keeping of accurate and complete field notes, data transfer, and GPS post processing experience is also desired. A familiarity with Microsoft Word, and Excel is required. This position may also require light project management, assisting Senior Staff in cost estimates, proposals, client contacts and correspondence. Good communication skills and writing skills desired. This position may also require review/QA/QC of technical staffs work along with comments/corrections or instruction.  

Job responsibilities include:

  • Utilize general knowledge of standard drafting concepts and procedures related to Survey Mapping, Exhibits, and ALTA Surveys.
  • Must be able to differentiate and apply company and client specific CADD/Graphics Standards on projects effectively.
  • Prepare and plot drawing packages for internal review and client submittals, following company file/archive naming system.
  • Operate and conduct field work using survey grade GPS receivers and data collection systems, robotic total stations, and automatic levels for ADOT Right-of-Way, Boundary, Topographic, Construction, and Engineering Design Surveys.
  • Handle downloads and data transfers, GPS Post Processing, and data imports.
  • Assist Senior Staff in proposals, cost estimates, and QA/QC of team deliverables.
  • Play a lead role in survey field procedures, techniques, and determining methods.
Requirements
  • Possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in above job responsibilities. 
  • Proficiency in MicroStation/Inroads (at a minimum) are required.  
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D desired.
  • Be able to work in a fast and multi-discipline and teamwork environment.
