We are seeking an established individual to lead technical traffic analysis assignments; supervise the technical production; and operate as project manager for traffic studies and engineering assignments. This position will partner with the planning department manager in pursuit of new FDOT traffic, planning, and PD&E contracts. This role provides the successful individual with the opportunity to expand their established FDOT Districts 4 and 6 relationships and to grow with Stanley Consultants’ expanding transportation planning practice.

Essential duties include:

  • Serves as Project Manager for Traffic Operations contracts
  • Prepares staff hour estimates and scope of services
  • Serves as the technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts with discipline areas
  • Assists in the development of marketing strategies for proposed traffic engineering and study pursuits
  • Oversees and performs technical operational analysis using programs such as CORSIM, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM
  • Prepares written reports and oral presentations related to Traffic Studies, Safety Analysis, and MUTS
  • Leads and directs sub consultants
  • Utilizes project management and team management capabilities to ensure that responsibilities are assigned and the execution of tasks meet schedule, quality, and budget parameters
  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • A Master of Science in Civil Engineering is preferred, but not required
  • Must possess at least 10 years of relevant experience in traffic analysis and engineering
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience at the Project Manager level
  • Must have prior experience as a consultant project manager on FDOT contracts
  • Must have proven leadership, communication, and client liaison skills
  • Requires a current Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • PTOE certification is desired
  • Must have a working knowledge of CORSIM, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM
  • Requires experience preparing FDOT PD&E Study Design Traffic Memorandums
  • Requires experience with FDOT Operations Studies, Safety Studies, and MUTS
  • A solid reputation with FDOT with an emphasis on District 4 and District 6
