||Engineer III (India)
||The Jenkins Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, technical administration, tuning, and monitoring of the Devops environments. The primary responsibility is that of Engineering and Administration of the Jenkins hardware and software,
but works with other IT Infrastructure teams such as application and database support as part of their daily role. They will also be responsible for working with the product teams on applications and supporting all development activities. Part of a team of
engineers responsible for the definition, planning and execution of all infrastructure activities required to support Jenkins systems.
o Install operating system software, front-end and back-end server components, and production application services according to defined requirements and data center operations standards.
o Install, configure and provision SAN storage.
o Develop and maintain documentation including server build docs, configuration standards, infrastructure architecture.
Monitoring and Support
o Responds to incidents to avoid system outages or restore availability to meet service level objectives. Performs problem determination, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
o Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support and maintenance of a 24x7 Production Environment.
o Installs changes to server hardware, operating systems, server components and production application services as required according to change management practices.
o Responsible for managing projects for hardware/software deployments and modifications involving the Production Environment.
o Develops detailed project plans for large projects.
o Responsible for defining specifications for system hardware.
Performance & Capacity Management
o Responsible for gathering relevant data to determine hardware capacity needs and make plans for capacity expansions in a proactive manner.
o Responsible for development and configuration practices that ensure a high level of performance and optimizes capacity utilization.
o Provides requirements to the Systems Monitoring group for metrics, alerts and escalations.
o Serves as a point of escalation for performance problems that cannot be resolved by the Support Staff.
o Researches new methods for enhancing performance and shares findings with the Engineering team.
o Participates in the BCP Strategy of the IT Infrastructure.
o Contributes to Infrastructure plans to support BCP strategy.
o Contributes to processes & procedures for cut-over to DR site.
Experience evaluating, installing and supporting servers in an Enterprise Data Center including Microsoft Windows Servers supporting front-end web services and back-end SQL Database Servers.
Experience installing, configuring and supporting Internet Information Services on Windows Servers.
Experience with Virtualization using VMWare Enterprise Servers with Vmotion.
Knowledgeable of clustering technologies, server farming techniques, load balancing, F5 Big IP or other hardware load balancing.
Experience installing and supporting enterprise storage solutions including SAN and NAS.
Experience with Disaster Recovery techniques including backup and restoration technologies, replication strategies, fail-over and recovery.
Experienced with automation technologies for rapid deployment of server builds and software deployment.
In addition, basic knowledge and skills with the following technologies are necessary: LAN/WAN, Middleware, Web Publishing, Monitoring, QA testing, and other technologies used in the Engineering Environment.
At least 5 years systems support experience in an IT environment, preferably in a technical industry
Proficient in business software, including MS Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Visio applications.
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to work overtime when necessary
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
