The Area HSE Manager is responsible for senior level management of the Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment programs supporting multiple OU’s.


  • Investigate safety complaints and issues, as well as incident investigations
  • Proficient in TapRooT investigation techniques and software
  • Must be experienced working in a PSM regulated environment
  • Perform senior level safety audits
  • Oversee activities of Area HSE Managers assigned to various office locations for multiple projects
  • Provide resources to support safety efforts in multiple locations and OU’s
  • Manage and develop personnel
  • Develop comprehensive reports, provides trend analysis, manage records and interface on a regular basis with clients, management team and area project personnel. 
  • Manage and development safety assessment plans and program auditing
  • Coordinate safety efforts with members of the management team and lead meetings
  • Coordinate safety task planning, proactive accident management, and assisting with the implementation of behavior based safety protocols.
  • Analyze safety trends; create reports, charts, and presentations as necessary.
  • Manage and supervise the activities of the Divisional/OU HSE Managers and assists in problem resolution on complex issues. 
  • Provide input on corporate policy, procedures, and practices and ensure projects within the defined area of control are in compliance with corporate standards and governmental regulations.
  • Conduct group setting training at various corporate locations as needed
  • Develop and present safety presentations to new and prospective clients
  • Function independently as well as in a highly disciplined team environment
  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Systems Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration or related degree preferred.  A minimum of 8 years safety with minimum of 3 years  management experience or a combination of experience, education and management. 
  • CHSP, POST, OHST, CHST, CSP Certifications are a plus.
  • Must be familiar with Fed/OSHA, NFPA, Health and Welfare Code, and other compliance regulations as required and understand how they apply to each project's and regions scope of work.
  • Must possess superior written and oral communication skills, demonstrated proficiency with safety management software and MS Office Professional, and prepares technical plans for new and existing work activities. 
  • Strong ability to effectively influence an organization at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Apply sound principles of professional conduct; prepare and present clear, concise and comprehensive oral and written reports


This position may require frequent travel and overtime.  Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, verbal communication, hearing, and repetitive motions.
