Summary: 

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties:  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and accurately abstract all fully executed lease documents, amendments, and license agreements into the lease management system.
  • Distribute in a timely manner finalized lease information and documentation to appropriate parties.
  • Review and verify renewal notices and commencement agreements and timely update the least management system accordingly.
  • Point person for least-related questions and lease management system.
  • Accurately maintain subtenant reports with information such as square footage, base rent and expiration dates.
  • Track all operating expenses and real estate tax reconciliations, percentage rent and security deposits.
  • Approve and process all utilities expenditures with third party provider, maintaining that all utilities are on or shut down upon closures.
  • Reconciles various real estate and property general ledger accounts periodically.
  • Assists in period-end closing process including preparation of specified accounting records for period end closing and analysis. 
  • Prepares period journal entries related to real estate and property with supporting documentation.
  • Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Performs account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.
  • Prepares or assists in preparation of schedules to be provided to the external and internal auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Intermediate level with Excel.
  • Proven understanding of lease management, process and tracking systems.
  • Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information.  Collects and researches data.  Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.  Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.  Develops alternative solutions.  Works well in group problem solving situations.

Educational/Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance from four-year college or university and 5 plus years related experience
  • Lease Administration and Real Estate accounting experience a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant license a plus
  • Knowledge of Great Plains or Lucernex software or equivalent software a plus
  • Restaurant or retail experience a plus
