About this role:
Under minimal supervision, the General Machinist II performs multiple set‐ups and operations to produce parts. Sets up and operates a variety of machines to perform diversified machining operations.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
1. Produces general parts and reworks/repairs existing parts.

2. Assists with building and repairing production molds.

3. Manufactures prototype parts for improvements or R&D projects.

4. Performs QA on all work.

Other Job Functions:
Performs clean‐up in the work area.

Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Overtime may be required.
Requirements Education/Training Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Four years of experience as a General Machinist.

Experience Required:
Completion of a four (4) year machinist’s apprenticeship program and two (2) years of verified experience as a journey-level machinist or a combination of machinist trade-related training (a minimum of two years) and experience as a journey-level machinist totaling six (6) years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
KSA #1: Requires thorough understanding and proficiency in use of shop machines.

KSA #2: Mechanical aptitude and ability required.

KSA #3: Required to have own tools.

KSA #4: Must possess ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions and to speak in English.

KSA #5: Must be proficient in reading of blueprints and schematics.

KSA #6: Requires ability to perform machining work within close tolerances.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently is required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
Regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 52 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors and fumes or airborne particles.
Frequently exposed to vibration.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and risk of static electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require PPE.
