About this Role:

The Associate Software Engineer develops software using the Mob Programming process and through the use of development practices guided by the Agile Manifesto and principles. S/he improves and revises the team’s development process using Agile Retrospectives and achieves technical excellence utilizing the Manifesto for Software Craftsmanship.

Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

1. Learns and contributes to Mob Programming (

2. Learns and contributes to Extreme Programming.

3. Learns and contributes to maintaining software utilizing Object Oriented Programming (sometimes functional programming).

4. Learns and contributes to ensuring code quality with Test Driven Development.

5. Learns and contributes to ensuring maintainable interdependencies with Behavior Driven Development or Full-stack Integration Tests.

6. Learns and contributes to enabling and executing Continuous Deployment with Continuous Delivery.

7. Learns and contributes to mentoring and cross-train other team members with the goal of elevating the entire team’s skill set and knowledge.

8. Learns and contributes to designing, querying, and maintaining SQL databases.

9. Learns and contributes to understand Code Craftsmanship.

Other Job Functions:

Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Requirements Education/Training Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and work experience.

Experience Required:

Any programming experience in Software Development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

KSA#1: Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with members across the organization.

KSA#2: Knowledge of any of the following: .NET, JavaScript, Typescript, TDD, BDD, SQL, XAML, Angular, ASP.NET, MVC, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JSON, Entity Framework, Node JS, Web Services, Visual Studio, Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming, IOT, GIT, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud,
LINQ, MQTT, GO.CD, Tools created by JetBrains & Red Gate.

KSA#3: Must be comfortable working in groups.

KSA#4: Ability to use Behavior Driven Development and Test Driven Development practices.

KSA#5: Ability to proactively seek knowledge and proficiency of new skills while interacting and working closely with the team.

KSA#6: Ability to recognize and act on the opportunity to share knowledge with other team members.

KSA#7: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time to use the computer, to perform paperwork activities, to attend meetings, etc. Intermittent walking to gain access to areas within the facility.

Ability to climb stairs to gain access to the upper level work area.

Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities.

Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer and to read and complete written documents.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.

Work Environment:

Office setting with temperature controls.
