About this role:
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for implementing national and/or international customer communications, including email, direct mail, social media, advertising, and educational materials for our products. S/he administers marketing initiatives for promotional campaigns and field sales support, including market research and campaign execution with a strong emphasis on reporting.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
1. Oversees content creation and execution of marketing emails, newsletters, mailers, templates and customer training campaigns.

2. Maintains the marketing automation platform for drip programs, campaigns, reporting, and all other platform components.

3. Supports marketing promotional campaigns and helps develop strategic plan, provides information on results and tracking and makes recommendations to improve effectiveness.

4. Facilitates communication for new product launches/ product updates using press releases, email newsletters, customer training programs, social media outlets and more.

5. Researches and recommends best practices for communications, executes market analysis and customer marketing surveys.

6. Assists team with field sales development for region specific promotions, presentation, and customer training materials.

7. Works with creative services to coordinate, develop and deliver promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, cut sheets and point of purchase materials. Tracks progress of these projects to ensure deadlines are met.

8. Supports social media plan and implements by building out content, working with internal subject matter experts.

9. Supports advertising plan and implements by building out content, maintaining relationships with a variety of media types including blogs, online, print and broadcast. Works with team to execute editorial schedules. Submits invoices for payment.

10. Supervises communications staff. Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and other personnel-related activities.

Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Requirements Education/Training Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required:
Minimum five years of experience in marketing and/or product promotions.

KSA #2: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet set deadlines.

KSA #4: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization.

KSA #5: Proficiency in the use of computers required with a strong knowledge of computerized spreadsheets.

KSA #7: Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments.

KSA #8: Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

KSA #9: Ability to travel as needed. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain valid passport.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) Preferred:
KSA #10: Knowledge of Marketing Automation Software (Marketo certification preferred) and email design (Knak).

KSA #11: Knowledge of Sugar CRM and Adobe Photoshop.

KSA #12: Knowledge of landscape lighting and/or irrigation design, products, applications, and markets in the industry.

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas.

Ability to climb stairs to gain access to work area.

Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer for long periods of time and to complete paperwork activities.

Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer, to read written materials and to complete paperwork activities.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.

Ability to lift and carry boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel to remove items from boxes and to move items to and from shelves.

Work Environment:
Office environment with temperature controls.

Various locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
