Description Huhtamaki, a leading supplier of drinking cups, frozen desert, and food packaging containers, has an immediate opening for a Continuous Improvement Leader in the Fulton, New York facility.

Supports Continuous Improvement by acting as a “change agent”.
Assisting in identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Defining the scope and financial justification of projects. Reporting project status and results. This includes documenting all project activities, financial benefits and approvals. Identifying, (Recruiting) and developing continuous improvement team members.
Leading teams to execute projects (2 per year) using the “Huhtamaki” continuous improvement methodology. Becoming an expert in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools, ensuring that the tools are used appropriately by team members. Supporting “Green Belts” and line management in their continuous improvement activities (i.e., training, presentations, etc.)
Identifying and assisting in the removal of barriers to projects
Ensuring 2-way open communication throughout the organization for the Continuous Process Improvement. This includes keeping the Continuous Improvement Director, Group Management, and Project owners informed of project status thus ensuring alignment of activities between other Black Belts. Manage capital equipment or process development projects as directed. Interact with local community organizations to support public outreach, recruiting opportunities, Company exposure to our neighbors in the City, County and State.

Requirements Bachelor degree or equivalent. Advanced degree – MBA desirable. 6-10 yrs of industrial experience, including 2+ yrs in a position of leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management. Experience in the use of statistical tools/methodologies, computers, quality methods, and basic financial principles. Experience in recruiting/leading and developing a team. Have strong communication skills – at all levels in the organization; Ability to manage change. Have strong conflict resolution skills to reach consensus and common goals. Exhibit consistent use of Six Sigma tools and methodology to evaluate projects to determine viability. Have strong problem-solving skills applicable to project management and team leadership. Have strong computer skills, math and problem solving ability. Able to multi task and manage large work load managing several projects at one time.
