Description

Huhtamaki, a leading supplier of drinking cups, frozen desert, and food packaging containers, has an immediate opening for Cup Helpers in the Fulton, New York facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Cup Helper requires the ability to relieve Cup Operators as necessary by performing the following tasks: 1. Start and stop Cup machine. 2. Verify and open pallets of WIP (work in progress) blanks. 3. Change and splice bottom board as needed. 4. Pack products. 5. Erect and fill cases with product. 6. Clear jams and restart machine. 7. Palletize cases of product. 8. Remove unused blanks from blank feeder when necessary. 9. Assist in an order change as time permits if an operator is on the machine. 10. Document production produced during the relied period (utilize the Relief Report Form). Safely and efficiently set up, start up, adjust and shut down production cup forming machines. To continuously stand and walk at and around production equipment; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting cases of finished product up to 40 lbs. frequently; have good eye/hand coordination; ability to recognize color's; able to work in ambient temperatures inside the building. Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Requires ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues. Responsible for maintaining production and quality standards, following job standard operating procedures and all safety procedures; to work well with other operators; follow daily clean-up procedures.

Requirements

Education:

High school diploma/GED preferred; The following related education is preferred: National Work Readiness Certificate or BOCES or Vocational Education Training Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing Skills, or community college - continuing Education Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing/Technical skills, or A.A.S. degree in Technical program field of study (electronics, manufacturing, engineering, computer science.

 

Experience:

Have 1-3 years of machine operator experience preferred. Demonstrate proficient computer skills and experience working with automated/computerized machinery. Also preferred: Industrial experience with skilled trades - millwright, carpenter, electrician, operating engineer, laborer, or Industrial experience includes work experience within manufacturing factories, power plants, recycling plants, and paper mills, or work experience in warehousing, distribution center, or high tech material handling environment, or work experience in machining, fabrication and assembly, or metal work, or be active or have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Military.
