Fleetwood Homes is currently looking for a Quality Control Inspector to work in our Rocky Mount, Virginia Plant.  The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for coordinating and conducting quality control activities in the plant.

  • Inspects incoming materials by confirming product meets specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting and communicating rejections of unacceptable items
  • Works closely with supervisor and the associates and provides guidance as needed
  • Communicates with Production and QC Managers of any violations of the quality process
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming product meets applicable drawings and specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting and communicating required corrections
  • Inspects finished products by confirming product meets drawings and specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting and communicating required corrections and ensuring defective product is not delivered to the customer
  • Documents inspection results by completing inspection reports and checklists
  • Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; and notifying management when repairs are necessary
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations


  • Experience in Quality Control Inspection in a fabrication/manufacturing environment helpful
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain a professional environment
  • Experience at reading and interpreting schematics
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Building code knowledge, ability to gain an understanding of the construction manuals, standards and specifications regarding the products
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build effective relationships with employees and supervisors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail with the task at hand
  • Demonstrated record of self-motivation and being able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced
  • Time management skills to ensure we stay on task to meet goals
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
