SUMMARY:

 

To serve as a communications coordinator between all customers of the Air Methods Communications Center, including aircraft flight crews, pre-hospital health care providers, hospital personnel, and other callers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Coordinates all flight request information

·         Complete computer data entry

·         Responsible for flight following of designated aircraft in compliance with all FAA and company regulations, policies and General Operations Manual

·         Responsible for presenting a professional and courteous demeanor the telephone and radio

·         Responsible for initial communications of public, private, and flight-related calls

·          Responsible for communications between pre-hospital health care providers, hospital personnel at the sending facility, and receiving institutions

·         Promotes communication between Communications Specialists, supervisors/management, members of the flight team and outside agencies

·         Compliance with policies and procedures as defined in the AMC Employee Handbook, LifeCom Policy and Procedure Handbook and customer defined policy and procedure

·         Ability to deal in high stress situations

·         Demonstrated customer service skills

·         Assist  in the training of new personnel

·         Ability to work in a team environment

·         Able to work 12 hour shifts and able to be on-call

 

Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years previous dispatch experience or experience with medical terminology, EMT knowledge or CNA knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills
